Born August 9, in the small city and state of Wilmington, Delaware, J.C. Howard realized from a young age he was destined to serve in the Lord’s church. Having served faithfully in many capacities before accepting his call to the preaching ministry, in 2007 James was licensed in ministry by the Cathedral of Fresh Fire, Reverend Emma L. Creamer, Senior Pastor.
Reverend Howard went on to graduate with honors from the world-renown Morehouse College (2009), in Atlanta Georgia, double majoring in Religion and History. He served as a Martin Luther King Jr., International Chapel Assistants and was inducted into the prestigious MLK Jr. Morehouse Board of Preachers in 2017. Dr. Howard served as Youth Pastor of Gospel Tabernacle Church, in Atlanta, GA during his college matriculation, where Bishop Wiley Jackson is the Senior Pastor.
In May of 2012, J.C. graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary where he received his Master of Divinity degree. After serving faithfully as Youth and Young Adult Pastor of Mount Bethel Ministries in Fort Lauderdale, FL for three years, Howard was called to the Senior Pastorate of the St. Ruth Missionary Baptist Church in Dania Beach, FL in February of 2016 until November 2018. Howard’s journey shifted back to Georgia where he was called and now serves as the proud Lead Pastor of the House of Hope Macon. Most recently Howard earned his Doctor of Divinity Degree from Emory University in May of 2020. Howard is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
In the year 2023, Dr. Howard married the love of his life, Lady April Howard and together they nurture and parent four wonderful children. Reverend Howard strives daily to grow as a Christian, as a man, father, and servant of humanity and to daily obey the voice of God and the Word of God.
Reverend Zacharel T. Veal is a devoted servant leader, passionate preacher, and gifted administrator who currently serves as the Director of Ministries at the House of Hope Macon in Macon, Georgia. A native of Macon, he is the proud son of Ms. Linda D. Hill, brother to Tamoco Hill, and beloved uncle to Zarek William Burney.
Reverend Veal is a product of the Bibb County School District and a graduate of Southeast High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies with minors in Sociology and Writing from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Furthering his education, he earned both a Master of Education and an Educational Specialist degree from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. He will begin his doctoral studies in January 2026.
He accepted his call to ministry and was licensed in February 2002 at Beulahland Bible Church under the leadership of Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jr. During his time at Beulahland, he faithfully served as the Minister of Children’s Ministries, overseeing Vacation Bible School, weekly Bible study for youth, and volunteer development.
Reverend Veal later joined the Greater Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, before returning to Macon to help launch the inaugural worship service of House of Hope Macon in January 2015. After a brief relocation, he reunited with House of Hope Macon in February 2019 under the pastoral leadership of Dr. J.C. Howard. Since returning, he has served in various capacities including Director of Assimilation, where he provided leadership over New Discipleship Intake and Orientation, Baptism, Communion, Baby Dedications, and the Mother’s Ministry. In 2021, he was appointed Director of Ministries.
In his current role, Reverend Veal provides administrative oversight to over 20 active ministries and ensures the worship experience at House of Hope Macon is impactful, engaging, and spiritually enriching. He is committed to empowering ministry leaders and enhancing the church’s outreach to minister to the total person—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
A gifted teacher and dynamic preacher, Reverend Veal is often sought after for his expertise in ministry planning and organizational development. He firmly believes in the transformative power of God’s love and is driven by a passion for God, God’s people, and the uncompromising teaching of God’s Word.

Alicia Diane Carner-McDonald is a dedicated leader, entrepreneur, and servant of God with a passion for ministry, music, and inspiring others. Born the eldest of three daughters to Pastor and Mrs. John Wesley Carner, Alicia was raised in a faith-filled environment that shaped her calling to serve. She resides in Locust Grove, Georgia, with her husband, Larry T. McDonald, and their two sons, Carner Jedaiah and Caeden Wesley.
Alicia is the CEO and founder of two thriving ventures: Carner McDonald Consulting LLC, which specializes in providing organizational, administrative, and management support to churches and small businesses, and CMC LLC Presents, a faith-based apparel brand offering inspirational and uplifting designs.
A seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in worship and arts ministry, Alicia has served in numerous roles, including Choir Director, Praise and Worship Leader, Worship & Arts Coordinator, Director of Worship & Arts, and Church Administrator. Her time as Church Administrator demonstrated her exceptional ability to oversee operations, manage ministries, and provide strategic guidance to enhance the church’s mission. Alicia thrives in leadership, operating and excelling in every aspect of worship ministry, from administration to musical direction.
Alicia’s academic credentials include a Master’s in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She has also earned Competency-Based Certifications and Professional Experience Recognition in music, along with accreditation in piano and voice. However, one of her most treasured gifts is teaching and directing choirs—a passion she has nurtured for over three decades.
Currently, Alicia serves as Instructor and Director of the Fort Valley State University Choir in Fort Valley, Georgia. She is also the founder and director of The Young Angelics, a community choir based in Macon, Georgia, and a member of her family’s singing group, The Carner Connection.

Tamoco Hill has been passionately serving in church media since the age of 12, bringing over three decades of hands-on experience to her ministry.
As the Assistant Director of Media, she leads with creativity and technical excellence—designing engaging graphics for all church events, managing the church’s livestream audio, and helping shape the church’s vision as a member of the executive committee.
A ProPresenter expert, Tamoco is known for her sharp eye for visual storytelling and her dedication to delivering smooth, spirit-filled worship experiences. She also oversees the church’s digital presence across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and online community groups—ensuring that the message of hope and faith reaches beyond the sanctuary and into the world.
Courtney C. Fogg serves faithfully as the Executive Assistant to the Pastor, where she helps support the vision and operations of the ministry with excellence, organization, and a heart for service. A proud Macon native, she brings a unique blend of professionalism, creativity, and compassion to everything she does.
In addition to her role at the church, Courtney is a devoted mother, a gifted baker, and a driven entrepreneur. She is the owner of a growing baking business, Shugga Shack Sweets, specializing in custom cakes and desserts that delight clients across the region. She also holds a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and works as a Health Educator for the Macon-Bibb County Health Department, passionate about empowering others to live well—physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
